The name

A tesserarius was a Roman legionary with one job. At sunset they collected the day's password at the commander's tent, written on a small wooden tablet. It had to reach the rest of the element before dark. The tablet was a tessera, and the job took its name from it.

At Tesserarius, we aim to uphold that legacy by carrying forward the knowledge that makes a leader. Army NCO Prep does that same job today, for the enlisted leaders of tomorrow.
